MIDDIE PRIDE

COMING together

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

I live on Fifth Avenue in the South Park area.

This is a part of old South Park, which is very beautiful. Most of the neighbors try to take care of the park. You see people out here planting flowers every year. We have one neighbor in particular who goes out every morning and picks up all the trash in the park. It's just a place where everybody can come together and have a good time.

The park has a lot of shade, and sometimes you see strangers sitting in this particular area of the park. You never know who you're going to meet. The park kind of makes people happy.

I think Middie Pride is trying to take care of your yard — so you represent a piece that looks nice. You want your community to look nice to other people coming in.

Middie Pride is a whole community coming together over issues or any problems that people have. I mean, we all have to live here, so we should all get along. The ambassadors have done a good job trying to educate the people on certain issues and things that are going on so that everybody can get involved.
