Narrative Literacy Training

In this 90-minute interactive professional development session, participants learn why and how narratives define us, as well as how we can intentionally navigate them to build better, more connected communities. They then receive monthly Narrative Sparks, 15-minute prompts that support their learning journey, as well as facilitated one-hour Community of Practice sessions that allow for guided learning and growth
This is an essential starter session for nonprofit staff, board and volunteers. It is also provides critical insights for community leaders, marketers, service providers and professional and affinity groups who value stories in their work and in building inclusive, diverse communities.

Narrative Change Essentials
Take your team's understanding of story —and how to leverage it for community and strategic success—to the next level. This customized 3-hour, hands-on workshop includes narrative literacy-building and individual skill-building activities. Attendees learn how to gather stories responsibly and the skills needed to engage in meaningful conversations with their colleagues from different backgrounds. We'll share APW's methods for connecting across divides as your team learns what it takes to be an APW Narrative Change Agent at work, at home and in community.
