ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“This photo is important to me because I feel happy—I had just gotten my phone and was trying to test my new camera. That was the only picture I had on my phone, and it was for me. I was happy in it, so I just picked it. I think it shows that you can get through stuff. Because at first, I had no phone. I had no phone for like three or four months, and then as soon as I got out, it showed that we can get through stuff.”
