PEOPLE POWER

Robert Moore

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“My name is Robert Moore. I moved to East Westwood 30 years ago. I was eight years old. I grew up in the community and started hanging at Third Presbyterian Church around the same time. I grew up under Mr. Rodney, learned a lot about serving a community. I served on one of the first Youth Councils of East Westwood; I started out as an officer. I was also a member in the Career Research Team, and just did a lot of things throughout the community. That's one of the main things that drives me today and got me into the work that I do today, which is all around community, nonprofit, and giving back. Today, I’m Vice President of the East Westwood Improvement Association. So everything that I grew up learning and doing, I still do today. Now I have a nonprofit youth sports program, football and cheerleading, ages five to 12. And I still I'm part of the mentoring program, also here in East Westwood.”
