The West End

Sharing A Legacy of Resilience

The West End

Bryan Sutton

My name is Bryan Sutton, I’m from the West End over by Wade and John Streets, and I’ve lived there my whole life, 37 years.

The picture I brought in is of the park that I can remember when I was a child. I lived a pretty sheltered childhood, so that park was a big memory of mine. I spent a lot of time. It’s a typical little park with benches, a little playground in the center, port-a-potty, basketball hoops— which the hoops are much nicer now than when I was younger. It’s just a nice little park, and it will always be in my memories. I don’t know a whole lot other than this area. My parents didn’t take me out of the West End very often. Everything I know is centered right around that park. It’s the heartbeat of my life, I guess, is that park.
