Ronell Moore

My name is Ronell Moore. I went to Taft High School in ‘05, ‘06. I would have graduated in ‘08, but I made a lot of bad choices in my life.

The good things about about the West End is we all used to box at the Neighborhood Houses. And you know, Nate Tubbs and Tony Tubbs—they’re brothers—and Tony Tubbs [is] one of the figures in the city. Everybody used to hear about Tony Tubbs. He is the one who fought Mike Tyson and Aaron Pryor. And there was a lot of greats and stuff that came up in our age bracket that looked up to them and wanted to make it out and make Cincinnati look good. A lot of people talk bad about Cincinnati, and we got a lot of talent here, but we waste our talent making bad decisions, and I was just one of those people. I was supposed to graduate at the age of 16, but I made some poor choices that affected the rest of my life, and sometimes, when you make those choices, you think you can’t change your life around.
