Mildred Patterson

My name is Mildred Patterson, better known as U.N.A. I am from the West End, born and raised, and I currently reside here.

The West End is a rich place—then, now, and in the future. And I say that because its richness depends on how you live. If you have a job, if you're hustling on the street, even if you're selling drugs, it's a place where money will be made. Even the people in the community—people who are probably poor—know how to bounce back. They may not have a lot of money, but the resilience of the people, even just coming together to take care of one another, is powerful.
