MIDDIE PRIDE
it doesn’t get better
LISA WHITE
I was born and raised in Middletown, Ohio. For the most part, I grew up in People’s Place Apartments. That was a huge part of my childhood. I lived there until probably graduation. Growing up, People’s Place was everything — it was the place to be.
I was reflecting not too long ago that it really had everything. You had all the other kids to play with, so you never needed to go outside of People’s Place. We had a park to play in. Every summer, we were just out there having so much fun. It was such a good time. So many families have come out of People’s Place and gone on to success.
We had so much fun at the high school. That’s where we formed long-term relationships that we still have today.
We were cheering on our team, win or lose, and having a ball. It was all about being a Middie. It doesn’t get any better than being a Middie.
