ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

My picture is the congregation at First Baptist Church here in Middletown. The reason I’m here is that I received a call to be the pastor of First Baptist Church. I feel that the people in the congregation really showcase the best values of Middletown — generosity, looking out for each other, caring for the vulnerable, and truly building a sense of community. When I hear 'Middie Pride,' the first word that comes to mind is community.

I’ve served a few other churches, and this church has probably been the most generous, mission-minded, and accepting congregation I’ve been part of. For most of these people, I know their stories. I’ve done funerals for their families, weddings for their families, and baptized some of them. Each of them represents a different relationship and story that has provided a very positive experience in my life.
