“The photos that you're looking at were taken on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago when we actually went bowling. We went to the bowling alley in Western Hills—Strikes and Spares, I believe it's called—and then afterwards had pizza. It's also kind of fun for the kids because we create a community both amongst the adults and the kids, so they enjoy just getting back together again regardless of what we're doing.
They’re friends, and even the adults become their friends. So that was bowling day—that was one of our fun events. What I thought was me serving them through the church has actually turned out to be really ministering and serving to me. Being a part of the Third Presbyterian community has just been...
It's been actually one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had, particularly from a religious standpoint. The folks there are quite inspirational: Rodney, Reggie, Miss Kim, and Michelle. In fact, I was with them last evening, and again, I'm just always amazed at their passion for the community, their passion for the kids in the community. As I said, it's just very inspiring.”
