ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:
“My name is Geneva Clark. East Westwood became the last neighborhood—the 52nd neighborhood—in the city of Cincinnati. That speaks volumes to the power of the people in this community. When the people felt slighted here, when it was one Westwood and the people in East Westwood felt overlooked, they didn’t just sit around and cry about it. They went and petitioned the city to form their own neighborhood. And thus, East Westwood was born. To me, that’s power within itself.
That’s my desk when I’m here. I sit at that computer, I sign the kids in and out, I talk to them, I play with them. I’m just excited about my opportunity to be part of developing children and contributing to whatever’s next in this neighborhood.
I feel joy that I’m now able to serve in a place I’ve always wanted to serve.”
