People Power in East Westwood

Our East Westwood neighbors share the stories in their lives.

PEOPLE POWER

Geneva Clark

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“East Westwood became the last neighborhood, the 52nd neighborhood in the city of Cincinnati, and that speaks volumes to the power of the people in this community. When the people felt slighted here, when it was one Westwood and the people at East Westwood felt slighted, they didn't sit around and just cry about it. They went and petitioned the city to form their own neighborhood. And thus, this is East Westwood. And to me, that's power within itself. That's my desk when I'm here. And I sit at that computer and I sign the kids in I sign him out. I talk to them, I play with them. I'm just excited about my opportunity to be a part of developing children and being a part of developing whatever's next to happen here in the neighborhood. I have joy that I'm able now to serve in a place that I've always wanted to serve.”
