ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“I think this picture says a lot about my time at Roll Hill School. I was dressed up as Cat in the Hat for World Literacy Day. Another staff member at the school was really into it and organized a whole day of events. One of the highlights of the day was me dressing up as the Cat in the Hat to get kids excited—not only about the day, but about reading in general.

It shows that we're all doing creative and wonderful things and coming together to support the now and the future. This Literacy Day kind of personifies that. Seeing the kids look up to me in this picture—literally looking up from sitting on the ground while I was the Cat in the Hat—they were a captive audience. I know that through the good work we're doing here in East Westwood, we're growing an even more engaged audience. It's really exciting when our young people are part of that change and part of that crew, and I’m looking forward to all the things coming East Westwood’s way.”
