ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“My name is Marcus Johnson. I'm originally from Washington, DC, and I moved to the Cincinnati area. The picture that I used is a photo of all the father figures and males in my family. Family means a lot to me. In it, you can see my grandfather on my mom's side, my grandfather on my dad's side, and all my uncles. It just shows that male figures in my family mean a lot.

This picture goes back six generations. Wow. It’s amazing how this photo captures that. Everyone in my family has been married for over 25 years, and it speaks to the power of a strong man and wife relationship. That means a lot to me. For me, it’s really about Black males and father figures. Every male in my family went to college and is very successful. It just shows that anything can be done, and when you put your mind to it, you can do anything you want to.”
