Brandi Preston

My name is Brandi Preston. I’m 18 years old. My thing about down here is peace and strength that the people down here revolve around. And the picture is me, my brother, my little sister and my grandpa. And my grandpa recently passed away. He was a big part of down here. He had like cars everywhere…everybody knows my grandpa down here. Like, if you say his name, people are like, ‘Oh! Him!’ So, yeah, that’s a big important part down here, and when he passed away, everybody was just shattered and torn to pieces. Without him, I feel like my family down here come closer together. We’ve all like, you know, in our own ways, become stronger together.

In the photo, I could tell I was very happy but didn’t have much because of pretty much everything that was going on back then. But, you know, my family, we’ve all grown in our own type of way to figure out what we need, or what we need to do better.
