The West End
Ashida Royal
My name is Ashida Royal, and I'm currently in the West End. I work down this way. I also my daughter also goes to school down this way, and I live down this way. Okay, so that's my connection so far. I've been down here for a nice little while. I'm a sewer. I make flags for a living.
It's been a lot going on in the West End, furtherwise. It's like the shootings that have been going on where I stay at on Freeman—hopefully, I don't even bust a tear up. I had recently lost my mom around that time. It'd been a lot of little stuff going on fartherwise. It's like, I don't know if you had heard about a minute ago; it was a girl that had got shot. She actually got shot on Freeman and they shot her. As soon as she came up out of her house, she was going to go visit her mama. It was basically over like a dice game. Her dude, he's shooting dice on the side of her car. The girl goes, she get hit right there in front of the car. And my kids got to see that, or my baby. We get off the bus and that stuff like right there taped up. You know, that's sad to me.
