“My name is Sandra Jones Mitchell. That photo was taken a couple weeks ago over in Northside. But nevertheless, it really was just posting 25 miles an hour signs all the way up the street. I think one of the things that when I think about pedestrian safety and using the opportunity to drive and take your time,I think for my family, it gives me an opportunity to talk to our young people that just got their license to be mindful of the kids, to be mindful of what they're doing and their traveling speed on these streets, and just being safe and just making sure that if you see a ball run out, there's a kid right behind it.

I think for me, I have always believed in the power of leadership. I think good leaders create other leaders. So what I've done is asked a couple of kids here in the Avondale area to be cross guard ambassadors.”
