Terana Boyd

My name is Terana Boyd, and I work in the West End. My relationship to the West End is the Neighborhood House, so that’s my foundation for the West End community.

I had an interview about two months ago, and I never had heard of the Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses, and I was intrigued by the description that was stating that they needed a Support Counselor. And I was like, ‘Well, I could be that; I could do that, I have a lot of history working in other neighborhoods with the youth.’ So I said I would just come on down, so when I came down, I met the director, Alexis Kidd, I also met Miss Janice, and they just blew me away. For their passion for the community, wanting to help others, and being able to give a voice to the loss—the lost voices, I feel, of the West End —was so uplifting to me. I completed my interview, things went great, and I got an email the next day asking me if I would like to be the Director of Programs.

Everyday I come in, I learn something new about the West End.
