I came here when I was five. We stayed on Reading Road. My grandmother raised me. I’ll be 60 November the 20th, but my grandmother started a lot of things. She died when I was 15. She started CCY [Citizens’ Committee on Youth] right up there on Central [Avenue] that used to be firehouses and all that.
